Course Description

CCCOnline's US History II course incorporates materials from the National Repository of Online Courses that can be viewed at www.hippocampus.org. These interactive files and other internet resources replace the traditional hard copy text book and provide an active learning environment. This format appeals to multiple learning styles by offering information in a variety of formats including visual aides, sound files, and printable pages. Study aides include charts for organizing information and practice multiple choice quizzes. In addition to the numerous MP3 files offered with the NROC mini-lectures, the instructor recorded an introduction, biography, and lectures. Assignments were carefully chosen to reinforce skills such as writing and researching history online, to evaluate student knowledge and synthesis of US history, and to offer a creative outlet for trying new technology.
